" Reading this book made me nostalgic for the creative writing classes I took in school and the critical discussions that I learned to have there. I found this book before the band’s second studio session where the main focus was vocals and overdubs. Maybe not so surprisingly, what makes a good short story has a lot in common with what makes an interesting song. One of my favorite takeaways was the awareness of the dance between artist and audience and the balance of expectation and surprise.
